Aftercare Recommendations
Tattoo Aftercare Recommendations
To ensure proper healing and long-lasting results, please follow these tattoo aftercare steps:
- Leave the bandage on for 2–4 hours, then gently remove and wash the area with mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water.
- Pat dry with a clean paper towel—do not rub.
- Apply a thin layer of tattoo ointment or unscented moisturizer 2–3 times daily.
- Avoid soaking the tattoo (no swimming, hot tubs, or baths) for at least 2 weeks.
- Do not expose the tattoo to direct sunlight—keep it covered or use SPF once healed.
- Do not pick or scratch at scabs or peeling skin; this can damage the design.
- Wear loose, clean clothing over the tattooed area to reduce irritation.
- Continue moisturizing daily until the tattoo is fully healed (usually 2–4 weeks).
Laser Tattoo Removal Aftercare Recommendations
Proper care after laser tattoo removal helps prevent complications and promotes faster healing:
- Keep the area clean and dry for the first 24 hours—gently wash with soap and water after that.
- Apply an antibiotic ointment (like Neosporin or Aquaphor) and cover with a sterile bandage for the first few days.
- Avoid sun exposure to the treated area for at least 2 weeks; use SPF 30+ if exposure is unavoidable.
- Do not pick at scabs or blisters—let them heal naturally.
- Avoid strenuous exercise or activities that cause excessive sweating for 24–48 hours.
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and swimming pools for one week post-treatment.
- Wear loose clothing over the area to avoid friction and irritation.
